Nick graduated from Oregon State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Earth Science with an emphasis in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences. He then earned a Master's from Syracuse University in 2011 in Broadcast & Digital Journalism. All the while he has been on the air in multiple states. Now, though, he calls Mississippi home and is the Chief Meteorologist for WDAM, a local television station, and works part time as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern Mississippi teaching a course in meteorology.

    I must say, while you do a good job on severe weather….snow is not your thing at least for an area like South Mississippi. You all at WDAM lost all credibility last season, missing 2 significant snow events, while only forecasting flurries to a half inch for both events. We saw an historic snow event the first time and nearly 2 inches during the second event.

    You will always lean on the side of little or no snow even when several computer models like that historic event last year showed the higher snow totals.
