Bad news tends to come in threes. For Denver Nuggets – former – reserve center Chris “Birdman” Andersen, this is number two.
He was waived from the team Tuesday. Andersen averaged 5.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.44 blocked shots in 32 games with the Nuggets last season. It was his tenth NBA season.
He joined the Nuggets back in 2001 as an undrafted free agent. He left for New Orleans in 2004 before returning to the Nuggets.
The other bit of bad news for Andersen was an investigation into his activities by the Douglas County sheriff’s deputies and the department’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit. No criminal charges have been announced.
Now Andersen can simply wait around for Number 3.
