FIFA discusses allowing fourth sub

FIFA is talking about big changes to the world of futbol. The governing body of the sport will discuss the possibility of allowing teams to use a fourth substitute in extra time.

The idea is to keep players upright and healthy and keep the product on the field up, as well.

“The FIFA Task Force Football 2014, the medical committee and the football committee support the proposal in order to maintain the technical level until the 120th minute and to protect the health of the players,” FIFA said Wednesday..

The meeting to discuss the changes will be held March 3 and the International Football Association Board will decide if increasing the number of subs would help improve matches and reduce injuries.
