Notre Dame beats UConn, takes down another Top 25 team

In the past month, it’s been good to be a Golden Domer. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are 4-1 since Christmas against Top 25 teams.

And the Irish beat another Top 25 team on Sunday, beating No. 24 Uconn, 50-48.

Notre Dame’s Eric Atkins scored 13 points to lead the way for the Irish (14-8, 6-3) and Jerian Grant had 11 points – including three clutch free throws late – to help the Irish snag their third-consecutive win.

It was also the third-consecutive loss for the UConn Huskies (14-6, 4-4) who will most likely fall out of the Top 25.

Notre Dame trailed 24-21 at halftime, but went on a 13-0 run to open the second half.

The Huskies battled back and Jeremy Lamb – who finished with 16 points – had a chance after a missed free throw, but his shot went off the rim at the buzzer.

Notre Dame should get some love in this weeks Top 25.
