Minnesota Vikings owner “optimistic” about new stadium

Don’t tell Minnesota Vikings owner Zygi Wilf hecan’t ahve his cake and eat it, too. The Vikings owner says the team wants a new stadium in the Twin Cities, regardless.

He is even willing to implode the Metrodome to do it.

From The Associated Press:

Wilf spoke Wednesday after a three-hour meeting with Gov. Mark Dayton and state lawmakers about the team’s push for state funding of a new stadium. The New Jersey businessman was more open than ever to rebuilding on Metrodome land in downtown Minneapolis, despite his past preference for two other sites.

Wilf’s hesitation – which sems to be shrinking – about building where the Metrodome sits surrounds relocating the University of Minnesota games for up to three years.

Governor Dayton seems to also be a fan of building on the current site of the Metrodome.
