Giants hot, in familiar territory, but feel different

The New York Giants have a chance. This time that might be their Achilles heel. In 2007, when the Giants traveled to Lambeau it was under different conditions.

After the 23-20 win in Green Bay five years ago, Giants quarterback Eli Manning recited the “everyone has doubted us” speech.

“We haven’t been given a shot, but we’re here and I think we’re deserving of it,” Manning said after the game. “Right now I’m excited as I can be.”

Well, now everyone is giving them a shot. In fact, most people are picking the Giants for the upset win.

It’s the trendiest pick since the Cardinals made it to the Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, the 15-1 Packers, the defending Super Bowl winning Packers, the score-in-their-sleep Packers are playing a home game in cold, snowy conditions.

The Packers shouldn’t be over-cocky, but they should at least confident.

Even though the Packers have been “giving up yards in big chunks and bailing themselves out by forcing turnovers” according to Associated Press writer Chris Jenkins, they should still lean on the fact that they have been forcing turnovers and they have won 15 games employing the same tactic.

And the Giants have only been playing this hot since a few weeks ago. And don’t sound like a team with a chip on their shoulders anymore.
