Eagles retain Andy Reid

Somewhere Mike Lederer is doubled over his Dunkin Donuts coffee running his hands back through his thick black hair.

Earlier Tuesday, Eagles chairman Jeffrey Lurie announced that coach Andy Reid will return for his 14th season in Philadelphia.

Despite using words like “unfathomable,” “ludicrous,” and “dismal” when describing the 2011 Philadelphia Eagles the coach – the man responsible for said season – will remain on staff.

The only thing that saved Reid was history. He’s led the Eagles to nine playoff appearances, six NFC East titles, five conference championship games and one Super Bowl in 13 seasons.

But rumors are swirling that not everyone’s job is safe. Especially those without history. Or a proven track-record of success.

Enter Juan Castillo. Most likely the first to go will be Castillo, the defensive coordinator.

Team president Joe Banner and general manager Howie Roseman were also retained, according to The Associated Press.
