Breaking: Packers’ Joe Philbin to coach Miami Dolphins

The Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin will take over in Miami.

After two interviews with the team, Philbin decided to take the job.

Philbin will take control of a team with no “real” quarterback leaving the door open for all of the Matt Flynn to Miami rumors.

The move was first reported by both Adam Schefter of ESPN and Jay Glazer of Fox Sports. Philbin is expected to sign a deal and be introduced as head coach on Saturday, according to the Miami Herald.

The Miami Dolphins aren’t exactly the Green Bay Packers – especailly offensively speaking. Brandon Marshall, Devone Bess, Brian Hartline and Anthony Fasano aren’t exactly Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, James Jones and Jermichael Finley.

In other words, Philbin is in for a challenge.

Philbin was free to take another job since the Packers lost in the Divisional round of the playoffs last weekend.

Philbin had been with Green Bay since 2003 and the offensive coordinator since 2007.

More to come…
