Bracket Buster: Middle Tennessee

How does it feel to have a 20-win season? That was a question Middle Tennessee probably wouldn’t be able to answer before this weekend.

It had been about 20 years since they’d won 20 games.

Well, until the group of transfer players, junior college kids and returning starters beat Troy Thursday night – now the school remembers the 20-win feeling.

The team is off to the best start in school history. The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders are 20-2, they have won 12-consecutive games and they are 9-0 in the Sun Belt for the first time since 1975.

And get this, only No. 2 Kentucky (20-1), No. 3 Syracuse (21-1) and No. 11 Murray State (20-0) have better records this season than Middle Tennessee.

And granted the strength of schedule might be a little skewed, but the Blue Raiders get to test their skills against a big-time program Saturday when they take on Vanderbilt.
