NBA rescinds Chris Paul trade to Lakers

Chris Paul will not be a Los Angeles Laker after all.

According to several reports, including Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports and Marc Stein of ESPN.com, the three-team deal that was set to send the All-Star guard to Los Angeles has been killed by the NBA.

The New Orleans Hornets are currently owned by the league and there was a lot of backlash by other owners regarding the deal.

According to Wojnarowski, NBA owners were “irate” at Thursday’s Board of Governors meeting regarding the trade and there was pressure against the Hornets GM Dell Demps to “pull the plug” on the trade.

Paul remains a member of the New Orleans Hornets and will have to report to training camp on Friday.
