SEC refs = Pac-12 refs!

The Pac-12 referees probably feel a lot better today. Sure they screwed up a handful of times yesterday.

But so did the refs in the SEC.

Late Saturday, the officials in the Southeastern Conference said refs incorrectly reviewed the final play of Tennessee’s overtime win against Vanderbilt.

The entire front office of Pac-12 officiating all roared in unison. Someone ELSE finally screwed up!

Tennessee sophomore defensive back, Eric Gordon, intercepted Vandy quarterback Jordan Rodgers and returned it to the “Hizzy” for, what ended up being, the winning score in the Vols’ 27-21 victory.

But, originally, the officials ruled him down at the Tennessee 35-yard line. They overturned it! After being ruled down by contact. After the whistle blew.

Oh the Pac-12 refs were loving every minute of this.

After it was all said and done, SEC Coordinator of Officials Steve Shaw released a statement saying the linesman blew his whistle when he thought Gordon’s knee hit the ground.

Shaw said that because a whistle blew, the play should not have been reviewable.

Translation: Down By Contacto means No Reviewo.

The worst part? Now the Commodores must beat Wake Forest to become bowl eligible. Had they beat Tennessee it would have been the fifth time in school history Vandy would have went bowling.
