Red Wings Patrick Eaves taken off ice on stretcher

It was a scary sight for fans. Detroit Red Wings forward Patrick Eaves was taken off the ice on a stretcher Saturday night after taking a puck to the jaw/ear.

Eaves remained conscious the entire time, even got himself onto the stretcher. He is scheduled to have surgery on his jaw Monday. He will miss six to eight weeks.

Roman Josi was the man responsible. His slap shot carried a bit and hit Eaves.

Eaves was taken to Detroit Medical Center after the game and was still there Sunday afternoon. He has one point in 10 games this season for the Red Wings.
