Penn State promises to raise bar, while lowering their own

I read an article today on Yahoo by The Associated Pres that said “Penn State leaders have pledged to raise ethics “to a new level” at the university…”

Really? A “new level,” you say? I didn’t realize that keep alleged child molesters and alleged sexual predators off the campus was something that required a “new level” at all. Was keeping children safe from sexual assault not in your bylaws? What was the “regular level” like? Is that the one where you all seemed to look the other way while this was happening?

How absurd, Penn State.

Next time, instead of promising to raise the bar across your campus you take a step back and listen to how stupid it sounds. As egregious as child molestation and child rape is, there isn’t any need to raise ANYTHING “to a new level” as the bar should ALREADY be set as damned high as it should go.

Now there is another accuser, too.

So not only are you, as a school, looked down upon by the rest of the country for all looking the other way while this happened, but you also are raising the bar to stop somethign you should have already been stopping to begin with.

Great. Glad after a handful of allegations against a coach and a nation disappointed, you all finally realized how dumb you all look.

Oh, and then your students organized a town hall discussion which allowed you all to sound even dumber.

According to the same article reference above, Penn State President Rod Erickson and other administrators “faced pointed questions at a student-organized town hall forum Wednesday
night” and “Erickson says he wants the Penn State community to learn “not just the legal thing to do, but the moral thing to do.” He promised there would be a new emphasis on transparency.”

I’m glad you all realized that, because so far, you haven’t done either, yet.
