Ohio State tops Duke, 85-63

People were watching one of two things Tuesday night. Either they were watching the Victoria Secret fashion show or they were watching Jared Sullinger score 21 points to push the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes past the No. 3 Duke Blue Devils. As a handful of fans tweeted Tuesday night, Duke seemed outmatched, outhustled en route to being outscored, 85-63.

And yes, it wasn’t even that close. Outside of Sullinger’s 21 points, William Buford scored 20, Deshaun Thomas had 18 and Aaron Craft netted 17 for the Buckeyes.

The Buckeyes opened the game – like the fashion show – with a bang. Ohio State took a 11-0 lead in the opening minutes and never looked back.

Buckeyes fans chanted “Overrated” repeatedly as teh game wound down. Then they went to the web, posting #overrated and #Duke so much that both began to trend on Twitter.

The Buckeyes (7-0) never trailed and never worried about a duke come back – even after a few Duke rallies

The third-ranked Blue Devils players did manage to pad some stats. Austin Rivers had 22 points and Mason Plumlee 16 but couldn’t make it three-for-three against ranked opponents. The Blue Devils were coming off wins over Michigan and Kansas in their previous two games.
