Eagles release Donald Lee

Old habits die hard, no? After The [Five] Daily reports that the PACKERS released Donald Lee, Mike Lederer plays clean up and reminds the staff, “The Eagles picked him up in free agency, remember”

To which Nick, our Editor-in-Chief, replies, “Thanks, Mike!”

So, the Eagles have released veteran tight end Donald Lee. Who was drafted in the fifth-round in 2003 by the Miami Dolphins.

Lee was signed on the first day of free agency and enjoyed a strong training camp and preseason. He ultimately got caught up in a numbers game.

With Lee’s release the Eagles will head into the regular season with two tight ends, Brent Celek and Clay Harbor.

The 6’4”, 248-pounder caught 11 passes for 73 yards in 15 games last season with the Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers. The 8-year veteran has 1,875 yards and 19 touchdowns in his career.
