It’s not as good as you’re thinking. Kobe Bryant hasn’t been recruited by Oscar Meyer. instead, Bryant was offered $6.7 million to play basketball for an Italian team, Vitrus Bologna.
Bryant, grew up in Italy.
The Virtus Bologna General Manager, Massimo Faraoni, told The Associated Press he’s been in contact with Bryant’s agent, Rob Pelinka, about the perennial All-Star.
Bologna is planning on using team president Claudio Sabatini and Canadian Solar – the team’s main sponsor – to pay for Bryant’s salary.
According to The Associated Press, Virtus has given Bryant a handful of different contract options – from a one-year deal down to a per-game deal – in hopes of coaxing him to play if the NBA Lockout spells no season in the NBA
