Eagles to release LB Rashad Jeanty

Linebacker Rashad Jeanty will not be a member of the Eagles 53-man roster.

Adam Caplan of FoxSports.com is reporting that the team has informed Jeanty that he will be released.

The 27-year old linebacker was signed to a one-year contract earlier in the offseason.

The 6-2, 243 pound linebacker last played for the Cincinnati Bengals during the 2009 season. The Central Florida product started 32 games for the Bengals from 2006-2009 but missed last season due to a fractured fibula he suffered during the AFC Wild Card round against the New York Jets.

During his 4-year NFL career Jeanty has played in 53 games recording 215 tackles. In 2008, he posted a career-high 97 tackles in 15 regular season games.

Jeanty will now become an unrestricted free agent.
