The Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed reports Monday night that Winnipeg Jets center Rick Rypien has been found dead in his home.
The Police also said the death wasn’t suspicious. He is the second NHL player to be found dead this offseason. Derek Boogaard was found dead in May.
Rypien, 27, recently signed a $700,000, one-year deal with Winnipeg. He’s totaled nine goals and seven assists in 119 career NHL games.
