The NFL and the NFL Players Association will discuss HGH testing during a conference call Wednesday.
The NFL wants to implement testing immediately while the NFLPA’s executive board wants to ensure player safety and privacy. As of now, the two sides are on opposite ends of the proverbial field.
NFLPA officials said last week they are still oncomfortable with the idea given the data sent to the NFLPA from the World Anti-Doping Agency about testing.
The NFLPA is still concerned about the test’s reliability and safety.
The NFL would be the first major professional sport in American to test for HGH. The OK for HGH testing was apart of the new NFL CBA but implementation was contingent upon the union’s approval of the test and an appeals process.
