N.O. Saints torch Oakland Raiders, badly, 40-20

Well, if anyone was wondering if Drew Brees was ready for the regular season, they need look no further than The Bay. Brees threw all over Oakland like it was going out of style.

Then his backup, Chase Daniel, did, too.

Brees finished 15-of-23 passing with 189 yards. Daniel finished 9-of-18 with 191 yards and two touchdowns.

Not that Oakland misses Nnamdi Asomugha.

Final score: 40-20, Saints.

The last time the Saints bruised the Raiders egos this bad was two years ago. The final in that one was 45-7. Later that season the Saints would win their first Super Bowl.

I’m not saying, I’m just saying… watch out.

The Raiders didn’t look too bad, either. Quarterback Jason Campbell completed 12-of-17 for 150 yards and a touchdown including a 35-yard strike to former Arizona State standout Derek Hagan.

Raiders say newly acquired quarterback Terrelle Pryor will play next week.
