Minnesota Vikings Rhett Bomar arrested

Vikings backup QB Rhett Bomar was arrested early Sunday morning in the same town the team is holding their training camp.

He was arrested on charges of third-degree drunken driving.

According to drivingaws.org, a Third Degree DUI in Minnesota carries the following consequences.

Third Degree DWI – Gross Misdemeanor (If convicted)

Jail – Up to 1 Year
Fine – $3,000
License Suspension – 180 Days
License Suspension – 360 Days (If Alcohol Concentration .20 or Above)
License Suspension – 360 Days (If Passenger under Age of 16 in Vehicle)
Limited License (Work or School) – Must Wait 90 Days
Ignition Interlock Possible
Fee – $250 License Reinstatement
Fee – $430 License Reinstatement Surcharge
Fee – $24 Driver License Application Fee
Administrative License Plate Impoundment (All Vehicles – 1 Year)
Issued Specially Coded Plate

Bomar, a two-year NFL veteran, has yet to throw a regular season pass in the NFL. He joined the Vikings from the Giants’ practice squad in late December. With the additions of veteran Donovan McNabb and rookie Christian Ponder, the 2009 fifth-round pick Bomar was already a long-shot to make the team.
