Major League Soccer to air on NBC networks

Major League Soccer continues to grow in the USA. NBC is the latest network to jump on the spotted ball bandwagon. NBC will televise MLS games starting next season.

The agreement will last three years and MLS Commissioner Don Garber said “it shows our sport is ready for prime time.”

It will nearly double the number of homes the MLS will be broadcast.

The package currently on Fox Soccer Channel will move to Versus – under the new name NBC Sports Network. The cable channel will air 38 regular-season games, three playoff games and two U.S. men’s national team matches per year.

NBC will broadcast two regular-season MLS games, two playoff games and two national team appearances under the three-year contract announced Wednesday.

ESPN will continue to broadcast its package of MLS games.
