Crimson Tide’s quarterback controversy, not controversial, yet

The Alabama Crimson Tide football team – ranked in most Top 25 preseason polls – is currently in the mix of a starting quarterback battle. But the two battling, aren’t worried.

Alabama’s AJ McCarron and Phillip Sims want to make one thing clear: There is no quarterback battle. It’s just friendly competition.

Fresman, Phillip Sims and sophomore A.J. McCarron say it’s a friendly competition. One thing that it is – is a question mark. A big one.

McCarron should have the edge He played in 13 games last season, eight at quarterback. He finishde the year with 389 yards passing on 30-for-48 with three touchdowns. But apparently, Sims has made a case that he should get reps with the first team as well.

McCarren told reporters that people are making it seem like the two “hate each other” according to The Associated Press. Sims told reporters the two have been friends since he got to campus.

It will be interesting to see how friendly the competition remains as camp continues.
