Vincent Jackson signs franchise tag

Well, it won’t take 11 games for Vincent Jackson to make an impression in the 2011 season. After missing training camp and most of the 2010 season in a salary dispute with San Diego, Jackson signed a franchise tag with the Chargers on Friday.

The deal is worth nearly $11 million.

Jackson was one of the 10 players in the Brady V. NFL antitrust suit and spent 10 games of the 2010 season in a salary dispute with the Chargers.

He went to the 2009 Pro Bowl.

Now, he will begin practice Aug. 4, the starting date for certain players in his contract class.
