Oregon remains quiet, hires law firm

The NCAA continues to investigate the University of Oregon and the Ducks finally reacted. But still haven’t responded. The university hired a “high-profile” law firm, according to The Associated Press, but remains quiet in regards to the investigation at hand.

The NCAA is looking into the Ducks’ $25,000 payment to a Texas-based recruiting service. The NCAA contends that the payment was “inflated” for services offered by Willie Lyles of Complete Scouting Services.

At issue is whether Lyles, an alleged street-agent, helped steer a highly recruited player to Oregon. The Pac-12 preseason media day is in 10 days and Chip Kelly may be forced to address the issue and comment on the relationship.
