NFL Lockout: Could Monday be the day?

After over four months of back and forth negotiations the NFL Lockout may FINALLY be coming to an end.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and NFLPA* President DeMaurice Smith have spoke throughout the weekend in an effort to come to an agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement.

According to several reports significant process was made on Saturday afternoon setting up a resolution to the lockout on Monday.

The NFLPA* executive committee is tentatively scheduled to meet in Washington, D.C. on Monday morning to ratify a new collective bargaining agreement.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports:

“De Smith and Roger Goodell have worked directly to assure that nothing goes off path,” Mortensen writes. “Expect a presser Monday.”

If a deal is reached on Monday teams around the league would open their doors to players on Tuesday morning.

Free agents would tentatively be allowed to talk to teams beginning on Wednesday with official moves beginning next Saturday, July 30.
