Galea in court, admits to bringing drugs to US

Dr. Anthony Galea was in court Wednesday when he admitted to bringing unapproved drugs into the United States to treat professional athletes.

The 51-year-old doctor pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court in Buffalo. He was originally indicted in October of last year on charges of smuggling Human Growth Hormone and other drugs across the border. The indictment also charged him with conspiracy and lying to border agents.

The indictment did not identify his clients. Meanwhile, a few of his big-named clients, Tiger Woods and Alex Rodriguez say they didn’t receive performance-enhancing drugs from him.
