Former players sue NFL for concealing concussion effects

The Associated Press is reporting that seventy-five former players are suing the National Football League, claiming the league concealed information about concussions.

The former players claim the ramifications and dangers of concussions were withheld from players, coaches, trainers and the public for decades. The players filed a negligence and liability suit against the NFL and helmet maker Riddell Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The suit lists players like former New England Patriot Raymond Clayborn, former New York Giant Ottis Anderson and former Miami Dolphin Mark Duper.

Most players listed their wives as co-plaintiffs, according to The Associated Press.

The NFL won’t take this lawsuit laying down. Spokesman Greg Aiello said the league wasn’t aware of a lawsuit but that the NFL would “vigorously” contest any claims of that kind.
