Dwight Howard considers overseas options

Dwight Howard played in a charity basketball tournament Sunday – and that might be the last shot he takes on US soil.

Howard, frustrated with the NBA lockout, is strongly considering playing overseas, according to reports. The latest outlet to corroborate said reports is The Associated Press. Of course, they went one step further – they asked the All-Star forward outright.

His response: “I’m not at liberty to talk about it, but there’s a huge possibility about me going to China or me going overseas to play basketball.”

Sunday, Howard told The Associated Press that he would consider playing in China or Europe if the NBA lockout doesn’t end. He didn’t hint that he was in any kind of talks with teams overseas, though.

But he did say it was important for him to be available for those opportunities. He also insisted he wasn’t going to just stay home and forget about basketball.

He even tweeted to a fan that he had something “up his sleeve”.

Recall that New Jersey guard Deron Williams recently signed to play with Turkey and other players have also threatened to leave the US to play overseas.
