Tiger Woods hired as spokesman for Japanese product

He may be down, but Tiger Woods is not out. Woods will still earn a paycheck in July – but not from golf. He was hired by a Japanese Company for pitch a heat rub used to relieve muscle and joint pain.

According to the Associated Press, the Nagoya-based Kowa Company says in a press release it “is pleased to announce the use of Tiger Woods … as the image character of Antiphlogistic Analgetic Vantelin Kowa series.”

Woods starred in a commercial that will air starting in July. No word yet if it will be as good as Sean Connery’s Japanese ads.

Woods has not played since May 12, when he withdrew from The Players Championship. He has been bothered by knee and ankle problems.
