Red Sox place Clay Buchholz on DL

The Boston Red Sox have placed starting pitcher Clay Buchholz on the 15-day disabled list due to a lower back strain.

To take his place on the roster the team has called up left handed pitcher Andrew Miller.  Miller, a former top prospect with the Detroit Tigers and Florida Marlins, will start Monday night as the Red Sox take on the San Diego Padres.

Buchholz pitched just five innings in his last start against Tampa Bay before coming out of the game.

Buchholz is 6-3 with a 3.48 ERA on the season.
