More bad news from Pirates-Sox match up

As if Tabata leaving the game wasn’t enough, now Boston is down a player. The Red Sox right-fielder J.D. Drew left Sunday’s game against the Pirates in the second inning.

Drew, who is batting .233 with four homers and 18 RBIs in 61 games. originally hurt himself during batting practice. According to multiple reports, Drew hurt himself by taking a foul ball off his left eye.

He started the game despite the discomfort. He then struck out looking with two runners aboard on to end the first and made one putout in right field before being replaced by Darnell McDonald.

No word on his availability for Tuesday, when Boston travels to Philadelphia.
