Rangers’ Josh Hamilton & Nelson Cruz set to return

The reigning American League Champion Texas Rangers are set to get a major boost to their lineup.

The team is set to activate both AL MVP Josh Hamilton and outfielder Nelson Cruz from the disabled list.

Both players will rejoin the Rangers as they open a 3-game set on Monday night against the Chicago White Sox.

Hamilton has been on the DL since April 13 after breaking a bone in his right shoulder while sliding head first into home plate against the Detroit Tigers.  He was expected to miss at least two months.  On the season, Hamilton is hitting .333 with seven RBIs.

Cruz strained a right quad muscle May 3.  He is hitting just .219 with seven home runs and 18 RBIs.

Since Hamilton went on the disabled list the Rangers are just 14-21.  The team is 7-9 without Cruz.
