Photo fallout: Pujols hugs Cubs GM Landry

On Tuesday afternoon before St. Louis’ 6-4 victory over the Chicago Cubs, Cardinals 1st baseman Albert Pujols shared a brief hug with Cubs general manager Jim Hendry.

The embrace has created a huge backlash of controversy.  Pujols is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2011 season and the Cubs have been speculated to be interested in the slugger if he hits the market.

Baseball has tampering rules preventing any team officials from conversing with players from other teams about their future or contract status. Fines and suspensions have been levied against owners and executives in the past.

What are your thoughts on the embrace?  Is it simply a situation of two long time baseball figures saying hello or is there something more?
