Pete Rose wants to manage again

Pete Rose says he still wants to manage someday.

Rose, who admitted to betting on baseball games, questions why he hasn’t gotten a second chance from Major League Baseball to get back into the game.

Charlie Hustle, a .303 lifetime hitter and a player-manager, was the keynote speaker Saturday night at a gala of the Ohio Justice & Policy Center.

A funny coincidence for Rose, one of the approximately 300 guests was the federal judge who sent him to prison for tax evasion related to his gambling.

Ha.

Rose managed the Reds from 1984 to 1989, with a 426-388 record, before he accepted a lifetime ban in 1989 for betting on baseball. He says he has given up on induction to the Hall of Fame, but still wants to manage.

Rose says he deserves another chance from baseball.
