MLS Recap: Vancouver Whitecaps lose 10th straight, D.C. United salvage scare

A busy day in the MLS. Multiple games were played, some are still going.

In the early games, the Vancouver Whitecaps lost to the New England Revolution. That’s the Whtiecaps 10th consecutive loss. The Revolution had been scoreless in the past two games before Shalrie Joseph scored on a penalty kick in the 49th minute.

The Chicago Fire rallied from a 2-0 deficit to tie Toronto FC. Fire’s Marco Pappa and Orr Barouch scored in the second half Saturday night to pull the game even.

D.C. United salvaged a rocky start against the Colorado Rapids. Chris Pontius scored on a penalty kick in the 62nd minute to put the game at 1-1 – it finished that way, too.

FC Dallas cruised by Philadelphia Union, 2-0. Rookie Fabian Castillo scored and provided an assist. the 18-year-old from Colombia, assisted on a Brek Shea goal in the 29th minute, then scored in the 43rd minute – his second of the season.
