Dustin Pedroia leaves game, injured leg

Boston Red Sox 2nd baseman Dustin Pedroia left Monday night game against the Cleveland Indians due to a leg injury.

Pedroia was rounding 2nd base when he decided to retreat to the base. He was checked by the Red Sox trainer and left the game.

Pedroia was replaced by pinch runner Drew Sutton.

As of late Monday evening there is no further word on the severity of Pedroia’s leg injury.

Pedroia is hitting just .246 with 2 home runs and 11 RBIs on the 2011 season.
