Coaches back players: End NFL lockout

The NFL Coaches Association isn’t interested in a work stoppage, either. They are backing the players’ fight against the owners.

The NFLCA filed a brief with the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday.

In the appeal, the coaches state that the lockout is inflicting irreparable harm on them and their future success. Coaches say that the lockout is interfering with summer minicamps and workouts – which help teams get on the same page. It also impedes team unity and overall team growth. The appeal specifically identifies newly hired coaches are being harmed.

No individual coaches are identified in the brief, according to The Associated Press.

The NFL told the AP that is wasn’t surprised because the NFLCA shares offices with the NFLPA in Washington D.C..

The 8th Circuit has set a June 3 hearing to hear arguments on whether the lockout is legal.
