Bonds to pay for Stow children’s college

Former San Francisco Giants outfielder Barry Bonds is in the news again.  But this time it is for a good reason.

According to NBC Bay Area Bonds has made a donation to pay for the college funds of the children of Brian Stow.

Stow is the San Francisco Giants fan that was attacked outside of Dodgers Stadium back on Opening Day.  He suffered brain damage in the attack and remains in critical condition at San Francisco General Hospital.

On Sunday morning Los Angeles police arrested the top suspect involved in the beating.  Police booked 31-year old Giovanni Ramirez of Los Angeles for assault with a deadly weapon.  He is being held on $1 million bail.

Bonds visited Stow on April 22, while he was still in a Southern California hospital.  Stow has two children who are both in grade school.

Stow family attorney Thomas Girardi told reporters on Tuesday that the Stow family is suing the Los Angeles Dodgers for an undisclosed amount of money, in large part to cover medical expenses.
