Boise State is responding to results from an inquiry by the NCAA that identified 22 specific infractions between 2005 to 2010.
Boise State President Bob Kustra told The Associated Press that the infractions cited by the NCAA are disappointing and unacceptable.
The infractions involve the football, tennis and track and field programs. The report states that coaches arranged summer housing and transportation for athletes – even allowing one tennis player to compete before being officially enrolled.
The NCAA issued that the scope and nature of the infractions showed that Boise State lacked the internal controls to comply with the rules. Kustra responded that the university has made fixes, done its own internal investigation and hired a new compliance officer, according to The Associated Press.
A final ruling is expected to take several months.
