Dynamo midfielder Danny Cruz ricocheted a shot off the crossbar in the 28th minute on the first real action of the game. Then the Dynamo capitalized off a Brad Davis corner kick in the 37th when Cam Weaver sent the Davis corner-kick trough the right side of the net to make it a 1-0 lead.

The Whitecaps answered, but Bobby Boswell scored in the 42nd minute, four minutes after the Whitecaps equalized the score at 1.

Boswell – who had an assist on the first Houston goal – used a beautiful set-up from Danny Cruz and beat goalkeeper Jay Nolly to give the Dynamo a 2-1 lead before half.

Later, Will Bruin scored (the rookie’s first MLS goal) in the 76th minute. On a breakaway pass from Brad Davis, Bruin knocked it over Whitecaps FC goalkeeper Jay Nolly.

Houston improved to 1-1-2 and will host New England next Sunday while Vancouver dropped to 1-2-2 and will host Chivas USA next Saturday.
