Vancouver, New England, draw after injury time

Another game ending in injury time, another draw for Vancouver. The Whitecaps ended their latest game in a draw, this time with New England. New England Revolution forward Ilija Stolica scored during injury time to pull even with Vancouver 1-1. The game ended moments later.

On the flip side, the Revolution played the entire second half with extra attackers and only salvaged a 1-1 draw.

The game featured the MLS assists leader and third-leading scorer, Atiba Harris, but he was held in check.

It took 56 minutes to get the games first point. Whitecaps’ Eric Hassli scored on a penalty kick. He was then issued his second yellow card for throwing his jersey into the crowd during the ensuing celebration.

Bye bye, Hassli.

New England couldn’t respond. Only 18 minutes later when defender A.J. Soares was tossed after a red card for a hard tackle

Bye bye, Soares.

In the 82nd minute, Vancouver keeper Jay Nolly made a diving save on a free kick and got a break moments later when a header from Stolica was called offside.

Stolica had the final blow, though. His shot during injury time counted – giving him three goals on the season – and gave New England the draw.
