Duck fans flock to Spring Game

Fans weren’t “flocking” around Saturday when they came out to support the Oregon Duck football team. The Ducks, only three months since playing in the national championship game, played their spring game to a crowd of more than 43,000.

Thomas completed 15 of 21 passes for 129 yards and an interception, and LaMichael James rushed three times for 78 yards and a touchdown. The 2010 Heisman finalist, James, hasn’t lost a step – he ran for a 67-yard touchdown.

Rob Beard added three field goals for a 16-0 victory over the white team.

According to Oregon’s count, a Pac-10 and school spring record 43,468 fans showed up for the game. It was a surprise to everyone but the fans. Traffic, as many who have frequented Autzen Stadium know, was a headache and the lack of parking didn’t help.

Keep in mind, last year’s attendance, 25,211, also set a record.
