NCAA passes more performance enhancing drug regulations

The NCAA got one thing right – testing. Not in the classroom but the training room. The newest rule passed by the NCAA will require all Division I schools to designate a staff member to answer questions about dietary suppliments and banned drugs.

Currently, Athletes are only required to sign a drug-testing consent form warning them of the dangers of supplements. The hope with the new rule is to educate players about what they are putting into their bodies before they swallow a pill or mix a shake.

The new rule will be in place for the upcoming college football season. (One that might be without one BCS Bowl – check back for details soon)

The idea is simple: A staff member well-versed in the list of banned substances and nutritional supplements.
