MLS All-Star game featuring Manchester United

The MLS must have some good fisherman in the Front Office. They netted another big one. The league’s All-Star game will feature Manchester United for the second straight year.

The game benefits both the MLS and Man. U. by creating a cross-cultural blend of national and international fans in the same place.

The game will be played July 27 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. – it’s part of the part of the “Red Devils’ preseason tour.”

Last year, Man U. beat the MLS All-Stars 5-2. It was hardly a game. But the turnout was surprising for those outside the soccer world. Nearly 71,000 people filled Houston’s Reliant Stadium (Hom of the Houston Texans).

Manchester United plans to announce its 2011 preseason tour Tuesday.
