Mike Bibby might take his talents to South Beach

The Miami Heat cleared room on their roster Tuesday, releasing Carlos Arroyo. Miami’s roster now stands at 14 players, The plan is to add Mike Bibby despite the fact he is averaging career lows in points and assists this season.

The Heat could also use some depth on the bench and his 3-ball accuracy. On a personal level, LeBron James has made comments suggesting he looks forward to playing with Bibby. The two were nearly teammates in Cleveland before Bibby was traded to Atlanta instead.

Bibby was released by the Wizards after he reached a buyout agreement where he forfeited $6.2 million in salary.

Arroyo was not with the team for Tuesday’s lengthy practice, and coach Erik Spoelstra said a statement from team president Pat Riley would be coming later Tuesday afternoon, according to ESPN.com
