The St. Louis Cardinals can’t catch a break.
Less than a week after 2010 NL Cy Young runner-up Adam Wainwright was lost for the season due to Tommy John surgery, another Cardinals ace went down with an injury.
St. Louis starter Chris Carpenter left his start Tuesday afternoon with a hamstring injury after 32 pitches. He was escorted from the field by head trainer Greg Hauck.
