Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony is expected to inform the New Jersey Nets on Monday whether or not he will accept a trade to New Jersey and sign an extension to play there.
The Nets and Nuggets have a deal in place pending Anthony’s willingness to sign an extension. The Knicks and Nuggets also have the basic framework of a deal that has been worked on all weekend.
Anthony met with Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov and minority owner Jay Z on Saturday and it was reported that Anthony came away from the meeting “non-committal.” He is not expected to accept a trade to New Jersey.
The New York Knicks remain the front-runners to obtain the former Syracuse University star’s services.
