Blazers face disappointment, twice

The Portland Trail Blazers (25-22) lost at home to the Boston Celtics Thursday night. The loss wasn’t the most disappointing news. Nicolas Batum went down to a knee injury in the second quarter.

Today, more disappointing news, they assigned rookie guard Armon Johnson to the NBA Development League’s Idaho Stampede.

Johnson, selected in the second round of last year’s draft out of Nevada, is averaging lowly 3.1 points, 1.1 rebounds and just over eight minutes in 28 games this season with the Blazers.

He is the second Blazer to be assigned this season to the Stampede, Portland’s D-League affiliate. Rookie forward Luke Babbitt played for Idaho for 10 days in December.
