Kobe Bryant Gymnasium Dedication

Lower Merion, PA – The Kobe Bryant Gymnasium Dedication was a sold-out event on Thursday evening at Lower Merion High School just outside of Philadelphia.

Bryant, a 1996 Lower Merion graduate, donated $411,000 to the school district to fund “a series of inspirational, interactive, and education displays.”

“Its cool for me,” Bryant said to ESPN.  “That’s obviously where playing in the NBA kind of became a realistic goal.  I put a lot of work in, a lot of hours in that gym, with a lot of people that support me and still support me to this day.  It will be cool to go back there.”

Bryant is in town with his Los Angeles Lakers to take on the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night at 7pm EST.
